Superlina Smoothie (with serious Anti-Inflammitory Action!)

Caution : not for the faint hearted !

Since quitting caffeine I have to get a kick start in the morning some other way! And there is no better punch then a fresh home-made organic smoothie. This is good for 2-3 servings, so make a batch and save some for an afternoon pick-me-up and then for your start the next day. In this smoothie you will be getting protein, healthy carbs, a large serving of your daily dark green leafy vegetables and a pure natural energy fix. No supplements needed !

If you are new to Spirulina, halve the serving until you get used to the taste and your body gets used to the detoxing effects. I like my smoothies really cold, but some like them room temperature.

Play with the flavours ; Turmeric can be over-powering so again, go light if you are not used to it.

Spirulina, Turmeric and Ginger are known for their anti-inflammatory properties, and do wonders for the immunity. Adding these to smoothies will give your immunity a kick start in the morning and with regular intake will keep the body strong.

Quick Look
Servings - 2

Time : 10 Mins

In a Blender Add

1 banana
1 pear
1 x medium cucumber

Where to Buy?

My fav places to shop for the ingredients:

Spirulina — Holland & Barret

Fruit& Veg — Biorganic store in the Greens (they deliver) Let them know we sent you and they’ll be more then happy help you with produce selection. They are also the only place I know where to get fresh Turmeric.

Coconut water — you can buy the containers everywhere but if you are looking for fresh, Carrefour Express usually stocks them and/or Spinneys. Have them cut it open for you and seal. The taste of real coconut water in your smoothy is like nothing else!
